Ed Trask is a Richmond-based painter who was educated at our own VCU. He got his start by painting murals illegally on the decrepit buildings in the Fan area. Since then, his work's attracted some attention in the community, and he's expanded his repertoire to paintings as well as murals. Trask has a studio in the Fan, which my Art II class visited at the end of last year with Mrs. Mosley. We happened to run into him while we were there, so we got to have a nice question-and-answer session with him. He's a really cool dude, and his work is creative and fun to look at.
